I wait patiently-expectantly, for you to hear my cry for help and then you turn, incline towards me.
You lift me continuously out of this pit of mud and clay: anger and hopelessness, fear and despair, jealously and pride, that try to keep me submerged.
You make my steps secure with your firm foundation, your steadfast strength.
Because of this I can sing a new song, one of praise, tentative hopefulness, and joy.
My prayer from Psalm 40 for 2021.
